The Beauty of Being Different
Some days, it's easy to be creative. Other days, you feel like the world is against you. I reached out to Sarah after meeting her at the pool, and asked her if she wanted to shoot with me because seriously, this natural red hair is beyond beautiful.
We got onto the topic of how sometimes, those of us who are considered creative, artsy are often individuals who are ostracized by their peers. For some, freckles are a thing to mock. Fill in the blank with all the qualifiers people have given you in your life: 'You're too ____ to do that, be that, accomplish that, pursue that...' But you know what? They were wrong about you. Never let your creativity get squashed by the naysayers.
Find the beauty in being different, my friend. Wear it like a badge of pride.
I've had many people ask why I chose to become a photographer. I believe that there are a lot of answers to that, but most of all, I have always embraced the beauty, the joy, that creating a portrait brings. And most of all, how I can show a side to my clients that many people may never see.
That's why I've also decided to start blogging this year. I feel like the pictures aren't quite enough to share the story of my clients with the world. I want you to get the chance to read about the incredible people I work with, their passions and dreams, and their creativity.
